Visakhapatnam: Speech and Poster Design Contest for Students

The Hindu FIC and Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India Ltd. (AMNS India Ltd.) are jointly organizing a speech contest and a poster design contest for students to commemorate International Ozone Day.

The theme is: “Single-use plastic and its impact on the climate” (for the Junior and Senior categories). Pupils in the 5th, 6th and 7th grades will be classified as ‘Juniors’ and those in the 8th, 9th and 10th grades as ‘Seniors’. The duration is two minutes and the students must speak in English. There are no registration fees. Interested students can complete the online registration form via the link –

The preliminary round will take place on September 14 at TPT Colony’s Hindu regional office, Seethammadhara, Visakhapatnam. The presentation time of the preliminary round will be communicated after registration. The deadline for registration is September 13.

Each student can submit one entry and the top 15 entries from each category will be selected for the final round, which will be held at the Visakhapatnam Public Library in Dwarakanagar on September 16. The timing will be advised to the pre-selected participants.

Modeling / presentation

The subject is “The best of waste” or “The wealth of waste”. Each school can send a team and the idea can be presented in the form of a model or a presentation. A table will be made available on site to display the model. Interested schools can register before 3 p.m. on September 14.
