MAYOR Ben Houchen visited a company in Tees Valley that offers to print free NHS tracking and tracing posters for hotel businesses in the area.

Shutter Media, based at Teesside International Airport, designs and produces advertising graphics as well as signage, shutter graphics and interior graphics for a multitude of clients, including professional football teams for sports facilities of the armed forces.

Now he is offering his expertise to pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes, all of which must now display NHS Track and Trace posters with QR codes on their premises to legally continue to operate during the coronavirus pandemic.

These posters allow visitors to scan codes through the new Track and Trace app to check in anonymously at a location, so customers can be reached with public health advice in the event of an outbreak.

Any company in the hospitality industry that wants their poster professionally printed on A4 vinyl sticker for free should simply contact Shutter Media. Simply email your details, along with your unique QR code link to [email protected]

Steve Hale, owner of Shutter Media, said: “We know hotel businesses have been among the hardest hit by the coronavirus, having to close on lockdown, reopen with fewer people allowed in and the public worrying. for their health.

“We also know that many of these sites may not have printers, or may not have printers capable of producing large, high-quality posters large enough to view and use. We want the Track and Trace app to be a success, and that starts with making sure those posters are obviously displayed where they need to be.

“This is why we are happy to step in and lend a hand to all these pubs and restaurants that need it and to print their posters for free. ”

Mr Houchen said: “Throughout this pandemic, many of our brilliant companies have come together for the common good, leveraging their strengths or thinking outside the box to help fight the coronavirus.

“We’ve heard of companies collaborating to produce face masks, offering hand sanitizer, or even working on vaccines. Shutter Media is the latest company to step in and do its part to support our pubs, bars and restaurants, many of which may be struggling during these unprecedented and difficult times.

“It shows that it’s not just those in the medical field that are helping, and I applaud the generosity of Shutter Media. They are another well-liked company operating out of our airport and I hope their offering leads to others. companies to think about how they can help.

“We need to give people the reassurance that they can always go out and have fun in a safe and responsible manner, to protect the health of the local population while preserving our economy. The NHS Track and Trace app is key to this, so spreading these posters across the region is a top priority. ”
