Launch of a 3D printing lab at Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills
Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, in collaboration with Anatomiz3D Medtech Pvt Ltd, has launched a 3D printing lab that will refine prosthetic implants to meet the different needs of each patient.
The new 3D technology makes it possible to recreate the exact replica of the patient’s anatomy from the scanner or MRI. The technology helps surgeons visualize anatomy before surgery, perform preoperative planning, determine the clinical approach, and provide accurate communication to the patient and their assistants on the approach taken.
“We expect this technology to be a game-changer. It allows surgeons to see blind spots so far, to optimize surgery with minimal damage to surrounding tissues and organs, ”says Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint MD, Apollo Hospitals Group.

Recently, Dr. AGK Gokhale, a senior heart and lung transplant surgeon, performed a new coronary artery bypass grafting (coronary artery bypass graft) on a patient using the technology. “3D printing of the graft allowed us to create a safe surgical journey. This was incredibly helpful for the dissection and for the success of the surgery, ”said Dr Gokhale.
