KILLER WHALES Mockumentary Trailer and Posters Follow Quirky Cast Trying to Make Next Big Murder Documentary — GeekTyrant

A trailer and some posters have been released for the mockumentary Killer whales, which follows some interesting characters as they try to get the next big true-crime documentary off the ground. It is directed by independent British filmmaker hamilton willow in his first feature film, based on a screenplay written by Wyatt Bunce.

Killer whales stars Anthony Carrigan (barry), Neal Bledsoe (Ugly Betty), Greg Vrotsos (Orange is the new black), and AB Farrely (gossip boy).

Here is the synopsis:

When budding documentary filmmaker Donny Wunder stumbles upon an unsolved murder, he sets out to make the next great true-crime documentary. But as giddy suspects and a tyrannical director wreak havoc on set, production falls apart dramatically, culminating in Donny’s arrest. A year later, Donny and the producers have interviews and come back to the failure of Killer Whales. That’s when the shocking fraud that put Donny behind bars is finally revealed. The film is a dark comedy about a naive filmmaker’s loss of innocence to the realities of the entertainment industry.

It sounds like a weird and interesting mockumentary, and I can’t wait to check it out. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think.
