Elocution, poster design contest for students

The Hindu FIC and Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) are jointly organizing an elocution contest and poster design contest for school students to commemorate Earth Day – 2022, which is celebrated on April 22 every year.

The theme of the “speech contest” is “Investing in our planet…because Green Future is a prosperous future”. The competition will take place in two categories, Juniors for students from 5 and at 7 and classes and Seniors for students from 8 and at 10 and Classes. Participants must speak for two minutes on the topic in English. There are no registration fees.

Participants must talk about the topic for two minutes, while taking a video and sending it to WhatsApp no. 9491827176 by April 19. Entrants should begin the video by mentioning their name, class, school, and location. A student can submit only one entry. A total of 15 top students from each category will be selected for the final round to be held on April 22. The time will be communicated to the pre-selected participants.

The theme of the Post Design competition: is “Reconnecting with nature”. This competition will also be held in two categories for juniors and seniors and there is no entry fee. Entrants must design a poster on A4 size paper, take a photo or scan it and WhatsApp to 9491827176 by April 19. Entrants must legibly write their name, class/section, school and school location on the front side of their poster. Each student can only submit one application. The top 50 entries from each category will be selected for the final round, which will be held on April 22. The subject and time of the report for the final will be communicated to the shortlisted participants.

The final round of both competitions will be held at the Visakhapatnam Public Library in Dwarakanagar. Finalists must make their own arrangements to travel to the venue. All participants will receive an electronic certificate of participation.

Finalists will receive certificates of appreciation and winners will be awarded with a certificate of achievement and a shield/medal.
