The printing of ballot papers for the 2022 election will begin on January 12, according to the Electoral Commission (Comelec).

A presentation by Comelec Deputy Executive Director Teodoro Elnas Jr. during a webinar on Monday, November 29, indicated that the ballot printing period is from January 12 to April 25.

“The ballots, after printing by the national printing press, will be delivered to a warehouse in Pasig to be packaged and labeled. After that, it will be transported to the office of the provincial treasurer, who will forward it to the treasurer of the city or municipality under his jurisdiction,” Elnas said in a mixture of English and Filipino during a virtual forum organized by the National Movement of Citizens for Freedom. “A verification of ballots, forms and supplies will be carried out at the office of the city or town treasurer to verify before the election whether the allocation of ballots by grouped constituency is complete,” he said. he adds.

The printing of overseas ballots takes place from January 12 to 13, while the printing of local absentee ballots takes place on January 14.

Comelec has set December 10 for the draw of groups from the party list to determine the order in which their names will appear on the official ballot papers for the 2022 elections.
